LockLeather Holster Not ShinyUpdated a month ago
The holster that you received is part of a run of leather we used that has more definition than the previous leather. This leather was intended to reflect the outline of the firearm from the molding process providing a better profile and definition of the form as compared to the shiny leather. While this leather is slightly superior in terms of definition and form of the firearm as compared to the shiny leather the leather base sheen is not as prominent or shiny. Thankfully, it can easily be brought up to a nice luster with a little maintenance and elbow grease.
If you prefer a high sheen you may sparingly apply a wax (Carnauba or the likes). Note: Using a wax based product may crack the leather prematurely after prolonged use thus a regular application of a leather conditioner is recommend once the desired sheen is achieved. Typically this maintenance application is only required twice a year and should be done regularly to preserve the life of the leather.
Steps for Carnauba Wax:
- Make sure your leather is dry (do not dry the leather with any artificial heat)
- Shake bottles well to avoid bubbles
- Apply the Carnauba wax with a soft cloth
- Allow the leather to dry naturally
- Take Sheep Wool and buff the leather to a high gloss
- Application can be repeated
Carnauba Wax Benefits:
- Deep luster and shine
- Naturally-derived
- Resist finger prints
- Resist scruff marks
- High gloss and shine
